Introduction 

This training gives a brief overview of the existing EU legislation on Water Management and will explain in more detail the European Water Framework Directive. The European Water Framework Directive expands the scope of water protection to all waters and sets a clear objective that “good status” must be achieved for all European waters by 2015 and that sustainable water use is ensured throughout Europe.
