Marie-Jose Zondag (1972) is an urban and regional planner with an extensive experience in transnational, crossborder and interregional co-operation (INTERREG), Structural Funds, European spatial development and the coordination of projects. Furthermore she is a specialist in evaluations (ex ante, ongoing and ex post) and indicator development.

Marie-Jose is an experienced trainer, doing assessments and providing advice on Structural Funds and regional development. Examples of projects are: Ex Ante Evaluation INTERREG IV programmes North Sea, North West Europe and Southern Baltic Sea, Writing manuals on INTERREG for Bulgarian project partners, and on Human Resource Management in INTERREG programmes, Indicator adjustment of INTERREG IIIB North Sea area, project assessment of interregional cooperation projects (INTERREG IIIC), organisation of 3-week Structural Funds training for 50 civil servants, Starting paper on future of Structural Funds 2007-2013 for Czech Republic, impact of  EC policies on the Netherlands, research after future of territorial cooperation, support to Bulgarian Ministries in the preparation of their OP’s for the Structural Funds, Classification of European recreative waterways. She is working for and in the European Union (old and new member states) and the accession and candidate countries. She has worked at European Commission DG Regio and TU Wien before. Since 1998 she is working for ECORYS.
