Dr. Bjørn Volkerink is senior consultant at ECORYS, specialised in taxation. He is also appointed as associate professor in tax policy at Utrecht University. Previously, he worked at the universities of Maastricht and Groningen. Bjørn has an MA and a Ph.D in public economics from the University of Groningen.

Bjørn has been responsible for teaching and coordinating a variety of courses, both for students and in the context of technical assistance projects. Examples of the latter are assessments of tax policy, revenue forecasting techniques and workshop moderation.

Bjørn has excellent teaching skills as demonstrated by evaluations by students and workshop participants, both at university and in the context of TA projects. At university, he has taught a variety of courses (basic micro and macro economics, public finance, design of tax systems, tax policy in the European Union and more). Currently, he coordinates (and teaches) a course on tax policy in the advanced masters program tax governance at Utrecht University.
