Anneke has been heavily involved in evaluation capacity building initiatives and evaluation research. She has taught evaluation methodologies at the University of Maastricht (MA European Management Studies) and also at the Academy for Finance and Economy where Dutch government officials are trained. She has been one of the initiators of the Dutch Evaluation Society Vide, making use of the experience of other evaluation societies such as the European Evaluation Society and the UK Evaluation Society. Before she joined ECORYS she worked as senior evaluator in the independent Policy and Operations Evaluation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands. In this position she carried out a multi-stakeholder approach involving in-depth country studies in a variety of emerging, transition and developing countries. She was also member of various steering groups to guide large-scale evaluations for the Dutch government. In these steering groups she was responsible for methodological guidance and quality control. Moreover, she coached officials in the management of evaluations. Anneke holds a MA in Sociological Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and a M.Sc in Agricultural Economics from the School of Development Studies of the University of East Anglia, UK. She is fluent in Dutch, English and French and speaks very good Portuguese, as well as good German. |

Anneke Slob is a Sociological Economist with 25 years of professional experience. She is specialised in the field of monitoring and evaluation. She is currently the co-director of the Macro and Sector Policies Division at ECORYS Nederland and the ECORYS Group Director of Monitoring and Evaluation. In this capacity, she is responsible for the co-ordination, methodological oversight and quality assurance of the company’s diverse portfolio of work in the evaluation and monitoring sphere. She has extensive international experience both within the EU and beyond the EU boundaries. She was team leader of a large number of complex evaluations in different areas such as agriculture, environment, governance, macro-economic assistance, EU enlargement, culture, justice and home affairs, social policy, business development, economic and social transformation, education, health. For these evaluations, she often contributed to the development of new methodologies and approaches, including impact assessments.
