Nol Verster (1942) is an associate expert to ECORYS and was - before his official retirement - until May 2007 employed as a senior economist and CBA/CEA specialist by the ECORYS Division of Macro and Sector Policies. He has a professional experience of 40 years, of which 37 years with the firm. From 1969 till 1997 he was part-time lecturer in regional and social economics at Erasmus University, Rotterdam. He is co-author of the official Dutch Government Guidelines for ‘Benefit-Cost Analysis and Socio-Economic Appraisal of Industrial and Infrastructure Projects’ (CPB/ECORYS 2000). He was project manager of a number of ex ante evaluation projects for airports, railways and roads. He also was involved in ex ante economic evaluation of legislation and regulation projects, including the national (Dutch) implications of EU environmental issues (like the EU Water Framework Directory – WFR, and Registration, Evaluation, restrictive measurer and Authorisation of Chemical substances – REACH). Nol Verster has a long-standing lecturing and training experience with university students as well as post-academic and public sector trainees.
