Mart has been employed at ECORYS (previous NEI) since 1993.

Within Ecorys MSP, Mart is now Leader of the Competence Area 'Private Sector Development' (since end 2004), after having been Head of the Unit 'Monitoring and Evaluation' since 2000.

Marts professional experience stretches back to 1980. From 1980 till 1991 he worked mainly in the Developing World (two years in Sri lanka, but also many other countries ). Since 1991, having a Polish wife and speaking Polish fluently, he worked for the EU-Phare programme in Poland from 1991-1993, 1993 - 1995, and again in 1999, 2000 and from 2003 till 2005 as Team Leader of a EU-Phare project 'Promotion of Employment and Human Resources Development'. Mart was head of the Tacis M&E unit in Kiev from 1995-1997 (where he learned to speak Russian). In addition to Ukraine and Poland Mart has experience in several other CEEC.

Recently Mart has performed evaluations in Egypt, South Africa and Turkey.
