Ecorys Academy training projects are delivered worldwide. Below we list a few examples of training projects that were executed during the past months. Kenya - Investment Promotion In November 2010, Ecorys Academy delivered a training session on Investment Promotion to a group of 40 diplomats from the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kenya Investment Authority. The client for this training was TradeCOM Secretariat, the location was Mombasa. The training covered the theory of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and discussed why and how firms engage in FDI. It also elaborated on how to attract FDI into a country, as well as the role of investment promotion agencies in this process. The training discussed the four stages of investment promotion and how economic and commercial diplomacy can play its part. South Africa - Saldanha Bay Municipality Leadership On 2-4 February 2011 a workshop was delivered in the context of the Saldanha Bay Municipality Leadership program in South-Africa, under the umbrella of Ecorys Academy. Through five modules the workshop aimed to provide the participants with a good understanding of their role in the regional economic development process, improved leadership skills, and a comprehensive and integrated view on the policy direction for meeting the human skills needs that will result from the employment opportunities created by developments in the coming decade(s). The workshop was delivered on behalf of the Royal Netherlands Embassy, at Saldanha, West Coast Province, South Africa. Turkey - Investment Promotion Workshop in Ankara 3 March 2011: Together with Oxford Intelligence, Ecorys delivered a training day to the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) and the 26 Regional Development Agencies that were recently established. The training aimed to build internal capacities for strengthening the effectiveness and efficiency of ISPAT's investment promotion division.
