| Training | | Cost Benefit Analysis of EU Funded Projects | | | | | | Aim | | Cost Benefit Analysis is a methodology to identify, quantify and (if possible) monetize all relevant impacts of projects (both costs and benefits). The CBA methodology is more and more applied to appraise (large) infrastructure projects all over the world. The European Commission requests CBA studies for the Structural Funds for all environmental infrastructure projects over 25 million euro and other projects over 50 million euro. For accession countries CBA studies are required for the EU Funds from the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA) for infrastructure projects over 10 million euro.
The ECORYS Academy has specially designed this course for all staff responsible for preparing or assessing major project applications for Cohesion Funds, European Fund for Regional Development or IPA. | | | | | | Subjects | | - Theory of Cost Benefit Analysis according to International CBA
standard textbooks and Guidelines for CBA of European Commission (DG Regio, 2008); - Important steps in a CBA study: feasibility and demand analysis,

The trainers are: Gerbrand van Bork has drafted and assessed CBA studies of EU Funded Project applications for the European Commission and European Investment Bank (EIB). For this reason he is aware of all practical problems and possible comments from the commission or EIB. His working experience is about 15 years in CBA for EU funded projects in the expertise areas regional development, transport and environment & energy. Walter Hulsker is an experienced CBA specialist and trainer.
